Spack Do-It-Yourself: Building Packages for HPC Workshop

Would you like to learn how to install software packages on an HPC cluster OR on your workstation?

Over the last several years, the Spack package installer has quickly become an invaluable tool for HPC researchers by giving them a consistent way to install hundreds of different software packages in science, math, and engineering.

We use Spack on the Nova and Condo clusters to install hundreds of packages for users.   But did you know you can use Spack to install packages yourself?

In this hands-on seminar we'll introduce Spack and show you how can use it to install complex research software yourself, whether in your cluster workspace or on your own computer.
